ENT EXPANDS SHARED BRANCHING PARTICIPATION -
In support of military community, Ent adds base locations for shared branching

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Ent Federal Credit Union is now making it easier for credit union members to access their funds – whether they belong to Ent or not. Recently, Ent expanded its participation in the Credit Union Service Network (CUSN) – a program established in 1992 to help participating credit unions serve members in areas outside of their immediate office locations via shared branching.

As of May 2008, CUSN has successfully implemented shared branching for over 86 credit unions. According to Marilynn Davis, Ent's director of ATM and card services, "Ent decided to expand our shared branching capabilities in order to better serve credit union members. The credit union philosophy of 'people helping people' extends beyond serving our own members – we want to be able to serve other credit union members so they can continue to use their credit union of choice without disruption in service."

Shared branching enables credit union members to conduct everyday financial transactions at other participating credit unions that are connected through a national switch, much like an ATM. Depending on the Credit Union Service Center, a member can perform transactions such as:
  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Loan payments
  • Transfers and Balance inquiries
  • Credit Card Cash Advances
  • Travelers Cheques and Money Orders
  • Official Checks
  • Notary Service
  • 24 hour CO-OP® ATM access
  • And, access transaction history.

Through the Shared Branching network, credit union members have access to more than 3300 service centers nationwide, including some foreign locations. To better support the military community, Ent added their military base service centers to the list of locations that offer Shared Branching. With the addition of Ent's three military base service centers, there are now nine Ent locations offering the service:
  • Peterson AFB
  • Buckley AFB
  • Schriever AFB
  • Spaulding
  • Rye
  • Decibel
  • Firestone
  • LoDo
  • And, 17th Street

Now, if life or work takes credit union members across town or across the country, they can continue to use their home town credit union – from right here in Colorado.

According to Chris Chippindale, Ent's director of operations, "We purposefully chose specific service centers to participate in Shared Branching based on the fact that many military members have relationships with credit unions around the country. We wanted to assure that our large military population had access to their credit union accounts – wherever those might be."
